Summer Rose, 24" x 24", mixed media on canvas, 2017
Summer is flying by and has been super busy! It was great to start out the year with two consecutive solo shows, but since May, I have been doing a lot of behind the scenes work on what's coming next.
Here are some highlights of what has been going on at Sharp Corner:
Since moving into my little house at Sharp Corner in 2015, I have had plans to make the detached garage into my studio. 2 1/2 years later, I am finally getting around to it! The work has been happening in stages, but I am happy to report that it is now a functional work space! This fall will see more changes and upgrades, including insulation and drywall, skylights, and a heating/cooling system. But for now I am just happy to get out of the spare bedroom and have dedicated work space!
Virginia Artists 2017 Juried Exhibition
This year was my first year applying to the annual Virginia Artists show at the Charles H. Taylor Arts Center in Hampton, VA. My piece, Lynnhaven, has been chosen to be included in this show, which runs from August 20 to October 8. More info on the "Shows" page....
Jewelry is back! Now that I have more space to work since moving into my new garage studio, I have been able to start planning for the holiday season. Last year I featured jewelry on the website and had success with a few local popups. This year I'll be giving an early preview of the fall line by posting new jewelry pieces on the site and on social media each week. All of my work is still one of a kind, so don't miss the chance to grab these pieces before the season gets into full swing!
I am currently exploring a lot of new popup opportunities that have recently come up. Look for the fall schedule on social media as more information becomes available.
