Our Forest - A Collective Art Project

 

Our Forest is a large scale, mixed media collage created from photos and drawings related to trees - leaves, bark, flowers, or any aspect of forest vegetation - submitted by anyone who wished to participate. The goal of the piece was to encourage people to observe and connect with their natural surroundings through art while demonstrating the idea that our environment is the result of our collective actions. The focus was on the Hampton Roads area, highlighting the rich ecological diversity of our unique coastal community. 

 

 

The final work was displayed at the Norfolk Transit Gallery in Norfolk, VA as part of the exhibit "Natural Collective", from April 7 - July 27, 2017.  It will be on display in November 2017 at 1701 in Virginia Beach, Virginia
